GW18 - GW21 Review
Here are the point returns for the last four game weeks:
GW18: 45 points - Free Hit
GW19: 115(-8) points - Bench Boost
GW20: 57 points
GW21: 65 points
So a total of 274 points scored across the 4 weeks, for an average of just over 68 points a game week. I will take that, especially as it's well above my target seasonal average of 63.50 points per week. The Free Hit team was underwhelming, but the Bench Boost used in GW19 was a moderate sucess. The following two weeks were decent weeks, but the disappointment was the captain blanks across all the weeks bar GW21. Even the Bench Boost week where my captain (Salah) was playing two games, he still blanked. But Salah duly returned with a two goal game in GW21 to repay me. In turth, his haul saved the game week from being a total disaster, after I decided to ship Bamford for Calvert-Lewin, only for Bamford to get a 15 point return and DCL blank. Frustrating, but I still ended the game week with another green arrow. I have climbed to 83k in the official rankings now and closing in on that top 10k finish. Of course, a top 5k finish is the goal, but it will take a monumental effort from here to achieve that rank. It can still be done.
One free transfer which I will carry over to the next game week, as I am quite happy with the team for now. Hopefully Calvert-Lewin can recouperate some of the losses from the Bamford trade.
Using the Captaincy Tool, here are the odds of a return for the main candidates:
I am just considering Bruno or Salah here this week, and Salah gets the edge. He looked back to his clinical best against West Ham in GW21 and a home game against Brighton is right up his street:
Soucek will be first sub this week. Vice captain is Bruno, naturally.
Ok, that's it for this article.
Good Luck and bye for now.
